CONGRATULATIONS TO THE BEAR 12U ALL-STAR TEAM FOR WINNING THE CAL RIPKEN 12U 50/70 REGIONAL TOURNAMENT!!!  They will represent the mid-atlantic region in the Cal Ripken Major 70' World Series August 8-16 in Aberdeen, MD.  This is the 2nd year in a row that a team from Delaware has gone to the Cal Ripken World Series (last year was Piedmont 12U).  Good luck!!!

Check out the 12-year-old World Series:

The best 12-year-old players from Cal Ripken teams gather here to play each other.  The U.S. teams compete for the United States Championship and teams from all over the world (Japan, Mexico, Rep. of Korea, Dominican Republic, Canada, Austrailia, Puerto Rico, New Zealand) compete for the International Championship.  Then those final 2 teams play each other for the World Championship!

Bear Babe Ruth will represent the mid-atlantic region wearing the Orioles orange & black:

  • Friday, August 8th @ 8:00pm vs. Hartford County
  • Sunday, August 10th @ 10:00am vs. Southeast
  • Tuesday, August 12th @ 12:30pm vs. Midwest Plains
  • Wednesday, August 13th @ 12:30pm vs. Ohio Valley
  • Diamond Bracket: Thursday, 8/14 Mid-Atlantic - 10 , New Zealand - 0
  • Diamond Bracket: Friday, 8/15 Mid-Atlantic - 7, Australia - 4

CBS Sports network televising final games:

We also encourage everyone to come out and enjoy a game!  It's only about a 35 minute drive to Aberdeen. Great experience for kids of all ages!!!

Bear went 2-2 in pool play which wasn't enough to advance to the U.S. semi-finals but they played in the Diamond Bracket and were the Diamond Bracket champions.  Click here for the article on their first win and here for the delawareonline article.
